Vietri sul Mare, originally known as ancient Marcina, is a center of strong tourist attraction due to its enchanting location, as it is an almost obligatory passage to the entrance of the Amalfi Coast.
The art of ceramics finds its kingdom here and spreads worldwide with the original and unmistakable imprint of the Vietri artisans.
From an artistic point of view, notable are the Church of S. Giovanni with a tall bell tower, a maiolica dome, and a valuable polyptych from the 16th century; the Church of the Rosary (also known as the Sanctuary of S. Vincenzo) in Dragonea, dating back to the 11th century, the Church of S. Maria delle Grazie (1540) in Raito, and that of S. Margherita in Albori (dated around 1500).
